Ca-el Oberon Seebaran is the chef behind the House of El, a boutique catering provider and restaurant consultancy.

The House of El can provide fine dining experiences for any occasion, for groups of two to 50 people. We are also interested in consulting with restauranteurs to provide direction in kitchen set up and efficiency, menu planning and staff training.

Chef Ca-el has had a shining restaurant career; he was the Chef de Cuisine at Chaud Café & Wine Bar from its inception to August 2016. He’s worked in the Hilton Trinidad, Benihana Trinidad, the St. Kitts Marriott & The Royal Beach Casino before being hired as part of the founding team of the Hyatt Regency Trinidad. At the Hyatt, Ca-el started as a Chef de Partie and rose in the ranks to become the youngest and the first local Chef de Cuisine of the Hyatt Waterfront Restaurant before leaving in 2011.

Anyone who knows Chef Ca-el knows about his obsession with Kal-El, aka Superman. The name of his company, the House of El, is a nod to that fantasy lore, as well as a strong acknowledgement of his personal faith.

Ca-el’s particular areas of strength are French-style fine dining, Caribbean fusion, and Indian and Middle Eastern cuisines.
